Asia Design Week | New Opportunities for China-ASEAN Design Innovation Development
On November 18, 2023, the first China-ASEAN Design Innovation Development Forum was held at the Nanning International Convention and Exhibition Center in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The forum was guided by the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, jointly organized by the Asia Design Week Organizing Committee, the Guangxi University Design Teaching Steering Committee, the Guangxi Innovation Design Week Organizing Committee, the School of Design at Guangxi Arts Institute, the Design Arts Committee of Guangxi Artists Association, and the Guangxi Creative Industries Association. Renowned professors and academicians from international and domestic institutions, along with students and professionals from various sectors, participated in this forum.
During the morning session of the "2023 Local & Innovation: China-ASEAN Design Innovation Development Forum" launch ceremony, speeches were delivered by Professor Zhang Wentong, Academician of the Malaysian Academy of Sciences, Chair of the International Conference on Sustainable Energy and Green Technology, and one of the top 2% scientists globally according to Stanford University rankings for 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023, as well as Wang Hualin, Member of the Teaching Steering Committee for Undergraduate Design Programs of the Ministry of Education of China, Chairman of the Teaching Steering Committee for Undergraduate Design Programs in Guangxi, and Dean of the School of Design at Guangxi Arts Institute. They emphasized the importance of design innovation in economic development and cultural exchange, expressing their commitment to strengthening cooperation and communication between China and ASEAN countries in the field of design.
