Report Recap｜Tsinghua University reports on Asia Design Week

On 18 November 2023, 2023 Asian New Art and Design Exchange Exhibition (AVADE) and the First China-ASEAN Design Innovation and Development Forum were held in Nanning International Convention and Exhibition Centre, Guangxi. The forum was guided by the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and organised by Guangxi University Design Professional Teaching Guidance Committee, Asia Design Week Organising Committee, Guangxi Innovation Design Week Organising Committee, School of Design of Guangxi Art Institute, Design Art Committee of Guangxi Artists Association, and Guangxi Creative Industry Association. Professor Liu Xin from the Department of Industrial Design, Academy of Arts and Design, Tsinghua University was invited to be the special advisor of this AVADE.

Exhibition Overview:

The exchange exhibition received a total of more than 1,500 submissions from nearly 100 institutions in 16 countries around the world. Tsinghua University Academy of Fine Arts student Cha Xingyu's work ‘Olympic Image Display Landscape Design under Computational Thinking’ won the first prize; Yuan Yitong, Zhang Ruilin and Liu Zeping won the second prize for their work ‘Chloroplast Community - Leafy Green Community’. The Academy of Arts and Design of Tsinghua University won the ‘Best Organisation Award’ issued by the organising committee, while other teams also won awards, such as the Macau University of Science and Technology, University of Malaya, China Academy of Art, China-Europe International Design and Culture Association, Green Design Institute of the World Green Design Organisation, Beijing Design Institute, Royal College of Art and so on.
